For as long as I can remember, I have been a dreamer. You know, that person that forgets all about what is realistic, and cares only about dreams. Some people may say that living in a dream or having dreams is silly or dumb, but I feel as though it is a necessity. You need to have them to keep you going. Say you're having an off day and nothing is going your way. You can disappear to your 'happy place' and just live in your so called make-believe world, at least for a little while.
Now, I'm not talking about dreams you have while sleeping, although those are pretty cool. I'm talking about daydreams. I was the biggest daydreamer while I was in school, and I obviously still am. I dream about getting the phone call saying I secured an interview or a job. I dream about traveling to different places around the world. And a dream that I have been having incredibly often is that of moving to New York City.
Ever since I first traveled to New York when I was in 10th grade, I always dreamed of living there. I don't know why, but every time I go there, I just feel as though I'm already home. Maybe because it's exciting and always has something going on. A new adventure around every corner, if you will.
Many studies have been done on why people have dreams, but I haven't really found any concrete evidence. Maybe we dream of a different life/lifestyle because we are bored with our own. I'm almost positive that's why I dream. I mean, after you work at TGI Friday's for almost 4 years doing the same thing day in and day out, it gets pretty old. It's nice to have a little fantasy to escape to, to keep you motivated and going. Who knows, maybe I will find a job in New York someday and I'll finally be able to make my dream come true, but until then, I'll be seeing the city in my day dreams while standing at my hostess stand.
Now, I'm going to attempt to make this blog interactive, just to spice things up a bit! So readers, what are some different dreams that you have?! Please feel free to share. See you all again soon!

Who Am I and What Do I Do?
Greetings everyone! Thank you for taking the time to check out my blog. Whatever brought you here, I welcome you.
I guess I should start this blog out by introducing myself. I'm sure you can guess by name by the title, but if not, my name is Ashley. I am a very recent college graduate and I'm in the process of navigating this crazy and twisted thing that we call life. This blog doesn't really have an angle. It's basically just going to be a diary, if you will, where I will be sharing what life is like as a post grad trying to find a job in the 'real world' and all of the other crazy/exciting things that my life has to offer, but I'll also be giving advice about different situations along the way. I hope you decide to join me for the ride!
As mentioned earlier, I am a recent graduate from Edinboro University of Pennsylvania with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Communication Studies and a specialization in Broadcast Journalism and a minor in Music. My ultimate goal in life is to be the next Diane Sawyer, but that obviously won't happen overnight, but a girl can dream. Right? Anyway, I don't have any job offers in my field of study at this exact moment in time, I mean after all, I only graduated (almost) three weeks ago so for now I am living the dream being the 'hostess with the mostess' at TGI Friday's in my hometown.
I also really love music, hence the minor in music. Fun fact: I actually began my college career as a Music Education Major, but that only lasted a semester... for numerous reasons. But, even though I went on a different path, I will still always love making music. I play three main instruments: the piano, violin, and clarinet, but I also like to fool around on the mandolin and ukulele.
I have the greatest friends and family that anyone could possibly ask for and I dare you to prove me wrong. We may have our ups and downs at times, but everything always works out for the better, and that's just a part of life.
Ok. Enough boring rambling from me. Time to have some fun! I'm going to list some random facts about me just so you can get to know me better.
1. I can write with my toes. Pretty weird, right? Sign me up for America's Got Talent!
2. I have studied in Scotland twice during my college career. It was a beyond AMAZING opportunity.
3. I failed my drivers test 5 times before I actually passed. The first time I 'rolled' through a stop sign, and the other 4 had to do with horrible parallel parking fails.
4. I haven't parallel parked since I took my driving test. Which was 6 years ago.
5. I was involved with marching band for 8 years. Hooray for band geeks.
6. I love to rock climb. Something about it is just so freeing.
7. I am absolutely terrified of any and all bugs. If I see one, I either run from the room and pretend like I didn't see it, or find someone to kill it for me.
8. I am probably the worlds pickiest eater. It's horrible.
9. I am always up for a new adventure, as long as it doesn't deal with me trying new foods.
10. I have the worlds most precious dog. A Schipperke. Yes, a tailless dog. But I love him.
I am so happy I get to share my life with you, and I hope you stop back soon!
